New Year’s news and the upcoming book

Filed under: General — Krof Drakula @ 10:21 pm

Well, seems that Fabien and company have been busy little beavers and have managed to put together a Definitive Guide to Symfony, which was in the pipeline for some time now, waiting for Symfony to mature into the 1.0 release.

The book covers all of the aspects of using the framework, including the previously-undocumented Lime testing framework, the details of filters, the all-new plugin architecture which promises to bring true reusability to user-designed modules, helpers and libraries.

And in the true spirit of open source, the book itself is released under a GFDL licence, which means all of the chapters of the book will also be available in HTML form on the Symfony website.

If you’re a newcomer to Symfony and want to explore this wonderful framework to have a firm grasp of the power it provides, be sure to snatch a copy of the book. If nothing else, it rewards the authors for their awesome work on the framework.
